Home
I miss home and everything that comes with it. I've now been away from home (Kalamazoo, MI) for five months. This is the longest time away I have ever spent in my 26.5 years of my life. Guess I'm growing up! Cannot wait to go back this summer! The Youngblood residence has evolved quite a bit over the years. My parents bought the property over 25 years ago when it was just a lot of trees. They tore the trees down and built the house from the ground up. I remember when we had a one car garage, no drive-way and an above ground pool.. those were the days :) Now our house has evolved in an estate of a two-car garage with a carport, an underground pool, two ponds and one bog along with my grandma's little apartment style house and the most spectacular garden that has a lot of blood, sweat and tears all over every inch of the grounds.

SNOW DAY!
Unlike us Michiganders who have to have to trudge to school and/or work in 4 + feet of snow, the entire town of Seattle shuts down with a mere 5 inches of snow. Now, I'm not complaining because yesterday was the best snow day ever! Because of the 'state of emergency' myself, my brother, my sister-in-law and our friend Jesse all were able to enjoy a happy snow day together. The street we live on is on top of a giant hill in Magnolia. The street was shut down for vehicle traffic but that didn't stop us along with the entire neighborhood to break out sleds, skies, bloat up boats, snowboards, tupperware, whatever people could get their hands on to jet down the hill. After only three runs down the hill, three deep in the blow up boat, it saw it's last day. We rode the curb for far too long before we slid to an abrupt halt because of the deflated boat. That didn't stop us from enjoying the rest of our snow day outside with our fellow neighbors! Happy Snow DayS Seattle!

City and Colour
On Monday after work my boss called me to tell me he just bought two tickets to the City and Colour concert at the Neptune Theatre.. for me !! Lurve my boss. I dragged Jessica along with me in the cold, cold weather to see the amazing performance! They even made fun of Seattle and our crazy reactions to the non-existence of snow. Yup, embarrassing Seattle. The opening act 'The Low Anthem' was a mix of blue grass and folk to set the mood. Check them out at http://www.lowanthem.com/site/ I need more live music in my life.
the low anthem .. they remind me of the type of group to play at Bell's Brewery back home in Kalamazoo, MI
